TRANS PLANNING OF JAYAPURA CITY, PAPUA PROVINCE

Congestion in Jayapura City is affected by increased ownership
private vehicles and the number of public transports due to the needs of the community,
so that it becomes less effective and efficient transportation. Trans of Jayapura City
designed as new public transport better than public transport
currently. In planning Trans Kota Jayapura is needed to evaluate
the performance of existing transport in order to know the load factor, operational speed
Secondary data collection includes maps of Jayapura City and transport routes.
Primary data collection in the form of transportation performance which includes: number
passengers up and down, travel time and headway. Data collection is done
for 3 days, Monday, Friday, Saturday. Performance evaluation using standards
from the Director General of Land Transportation in 2002 and the Ministerial Regulation
Perhubungan R.I no. 10 of 2012.
The results showed that: The highest average number of passengers
occurred Monday on route E of 48 passengers and the lowest average number
occurred Saturday on the L2 route of 22 passengers. Average load factor value
within three days the survey occurred at 56.51% (below the Government standard
70%). The average travel speed in three days of the survey was 35
km / hour. This speed is not in accordance with Government standards of 30 km / hour.
The average headway in the three days of the survey was 2.8 minutes, this headway was not
meet government standards of 5-10 minutes. There are 13 existing transports
routes operating in South Jayapura District, North Jayapura District, District
Abepura and District Heram. But in the Trans City Jayapura plan only
9 lines are needed to reach these four districts. So that it can be withdrawn
the conclusion that existing transportation is less effective and efficient.
