THE EFFECT OF THE QUALITY OF BANKING ASSETS ON
PROFITABILITY IN REGISTERED COMMERCIAL BANKS
IN INDONESIAN STOCK EXCHANGE (BEI) 2012-2016.
S1 thesis, UAJY.
This study aims to examine the effect of asset quality on
profitability at commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
This study uses an independent variable, namely the quality of assets
proxied using the ratio of Non Performing Loans (NPL), Non Performing
Assets (NPA), and Allowance for Impairment Losses (CKPN). Variable
the dependent used is proxied profitability using
Return On Assets (ROA). The control variable used is the size of the bank.
The data source used in this study is secondary data.
The data used is in the form of financial statements of commercial banks listed on
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2012-2016. Commercial bank financial report data
can be obtained from www.idx.ac.id. The study sample used sampling sampling.
The sample selected was 26 banks for 5 years, so
obtained as many as 130 samples obtained during 2012-2016.
This study conducted descriptive statistical tests, normality tests, classic assumption tests
in the form of multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, and autocorrelation test, as well
test hypotheses using multiple linear regression analysis.
The results of testing this study are that NPL has a negative effect on
ROA. This means that the higher the NPL ratio indicates the quality of assets is declining
the ROA ratio will be lower. NPA has a negative effect on ROA.
That is, the higher the NPA ratio indicates the quality of assets decreases
the ROA ratio will be lower. CKPN has a negative effect on
ROA. That is, the higher the CKPN ratio indicates the quality of the asset
decreased then the lower the ROA ratio.
