Jurnal Penelitian Berkorelasi Antara Krim Pemutih Merkuri Tingkat dan Tingkat Merkuri Pengguna Krim Pemutih Urine di FKM Unair
Bleach creams that contain mercury exposure can cause high levels of mercury in the urine and skin health. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between whitening mercury levels and urine mercury levels among students using bleach creams in Unair FKM. This study was an observational study with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted on 11 students of the FKM Unair graduate as a sample of 12 students who constituted a population using simple random sampling. Moreover, the measurement of facial whitening cream was used by respondents. The results showed that overall whitening cream contained mercury with an average of 16,325 ppm. Mercury levels in the urine of respondents averaged 22.455 μg / g urine creatinine. Then the correlation between mercury levels in urine and mercury levels in the cream has a value of 0.119. The conclusion of this study is that there is no correlation of the level of mercury whitening cream with mercury levels in urine creatinine. Users of facial whitening creams are recommended to stop using facial whitening creams that contain mercury and replace them with natural products such as fruit masks.
