LEARNING THE WAVE CONCEPT WITH THE PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL THROUGH ANALYSIS OF SHEAR STRAIN IN THE EARTHQUAKE SCOPE.

This research aims to: (1) determine and map the distribution of shear strain values, (2) correlate between shear strains and building damage in the district. Gading Cempaka and the Great Queen of the City of Bengkulu, (3) Explain the results of critical thinking skills of students in the high, medium and low groups taught using Problem Based Learning learning models at SMAIT IQRA Kota Bengkulu. This study was a quasi-experimental study with the design of the One Group pretest-posttest design. The results showed that the shear value of the strain of Kec. Gading Cempaka and Ratu Agung Kota Bengkulu are relatively heterogeneous even in the same type of geological formation. The 2007 earthquake estimated 3.38% had the potential to undergo land surface deformation in the form of fractures and settlements and 96, 62% had the potential to experience shocks due to earthquake waves and vibrations. The 2000 earthquake is estimated that almost all of the Gading Cempaka and Ratu Agung regions have the potential to experience shocks due to the earthquake's waves and vibrations which amounted to 97% while the potential for liquefaction (subsidence) was 3%. The correlation between shear strains and building damage due to earthquakes shows that the relationship is directly proportional to the function
