Middle Ear Neurofibroma with Chronic Supurative Otitis Media

Introduction: Neurofibroma is a neural tumor that is quite common, but only a few cases involving the middle ear been reported. Case: A 51-year-old woman reported with a watery left ear complaint, disappearing 30 years ago. The patient performed tympanomastoidectomy intact wall of the left ear, intraoperatively found granulation tissue along with a network of papillary in the ear canal. The result of anatomical pathology is neurofibroma with calcification. Conclusion: Neurofibroma is a tumor that can appear anywhere in the body. The presence of neurofibroma together with CSOM is thought to be due to the role of inflammation which triggers the onset of tumors. Good management and follow-up can produce satisfying results.
