Abstract

The city of Yogyakarta as a cultural city is a former center of Javanese culture, the culture needs to be preserved and developed, including art. Dance is the oldest branch of art. Dance which is part of the nation's culture needs to be preserved in its intact form, both seeing it as a living culture and its informative footprint, so that it can be inherited from generation to generation. In dance inheritance, it requires evidence that is always tangible and can be learned, not only for the sake of preserving the dance itself, but also for the discovery and development of new values needed in the life process of the nation.
The museum is a guardian of cultural heritage, in the sense that escort contains the meaning that the cultural heritage is also displayed to the public. In this connection it is not excessive if the museum is also called a cultural preserve if it preserves cultural heritage and displays it to the community.
The existence of complete documentation will greatly help the dancers, dance stylists, scientists, critics and other artists in carrying out their duties. Besides that it can be an entertainment that is entertainment for the wider community, both foreign tourists and archipelago tourists.
Architecture is the embodiment of values as an expression of the culture of the nation, said the Minister of Public Works at the Special Committee in Hadjisarosa. Breath and the soul of traditional architecture need to be captured and re-embodied in the new container by displaying each other's unique, unique and characteristic identity. To provide local regional characteristics. This is intended to express collections that are accommodated in the appearance of buildings, as well as to increase people's appreciation of Javanese architecture.
Form is the main characteristic that shows a space determined by appearance and its relationship between fields that explain the boundaries of space. The arrangement of space without diversity can result in monotonous and boredom, diversity without rules creates chaos. In a space or building, between spaces and from the inside out, human movement is an important factor and influences the planning of the whole building. The ease and comfort of visitor movements in observing, researching, understanding collection objects in museum showrooms is a top priority.
With consideration of visitor movements, the form of showroom will become dynamic if it has forms of space that can direct visitors to observe collections. So visitors are invited to move to see the entire museum collections with recreation.
