Parangtritis 2 Station was built to connect the north-south route (Kulonprogo – Samas – Parangtritis route) and the east-west route (Samas – Borobudur route), through the role of this strategic function, Station
Parangtritis is required to be able to accommodate the vision of Transit Orientate Development (TOD) city spatial planning and contribute to the strategy of economic development through tourism. The planning and design of Parangtritis 2 Station is focused on being able to provide a space experience for visitors (design experince by sense) in the surrounding environment (character) besides
adjusting to the physical comfort of station visitors in the movement of people or goods. The development of Parangtritis 2 Station is intended to be a medium class station with
capacity of 80,000 PnP / day. The study of the determination of types, quantities, and capacities through a standardization of train stations in the form of technical, service, and minimum operational requirements in class station buildings is being adjusted to the number of passengers served each time interval of departure and arrival. Furthermore, site design and planning is used as a reference in determining the concept of circulation and laying out the outer space and its relationship with the inner space and its quality. Furthermore, form transformation, the concept of the quality of inner and outer space, and the concept of circulation are determined through the study of the principles of the approach of sense of character and sense of movement. So that finally Parangtritis 2 Station can function properly through the flow of linear circulation, with the concept of fine to coarse strategy and able to display
image samas through interpretation when making a move towards the shape of the building.
