Jurnal INTRODUCING AN ANTI-SMOKING COMMUNITY IN THE BONE-BONE AREA OF ENREKANG REGENCY, INDONESIA

Abstract : Tobacco
introduced in Indonesia in the 16th century. In traditional societies
Indonesia, offered cigarettes during weddings or celebrations have become
common thing. Tobacco has been identified as a risk factor
important for non-communicable diseases in either developing countries or countries
advanced. Smoking behavior of Indonesian society has become common,
so as if there is no more smoke-free space or community.
Although there is already Law no. 19 of 2003 which regulates the ban
smoking in some places, but in fact this rule has not been effective
because of the large number of heavy smokers. In fact that there is a
villages where no one smokes. Research purposes
this is to introduce a smoke-free village that involves the whole
population. The research method used is qualitative research. Data
collected through interviews, FGD and observation. Free Smoke Bone-Bone Village
Cigarette was born from a resident named Idris who started doing
approach to indigenous stakeholders in Bone-Bone to quit smoking.
Over time the idea spread across the population and finally accepted
the idea as a behavior to stop smoking. Conclusions of
this research, that something that is learned and familiarized from an early age will
is difficult to change, but in the former Bone-Bone village community
its citizens are smoking that within a few years they can stop
smoking
