Abstract

This study aims to describe emotional intelligence, describing learning interest, describing student learning achievement, describing the relationship of emotional intelligence with student learning achievement, describing the relationship of interest in learning with student learning achievement, describing the relationship of emotional intelligence with learning interest, and describe the relationship of emotional intelligence and interest in learning with student learning achievement. This research design uses correlational quantitative. The overall population of this study amounted to 175 students, 30 students for research trials, and 145 for research. by using data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques using product moment and multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship (r = 0.342, sig. = 0.000 <0.005) between emotional intelligence and learning achievement. The results showed that there were positive and significant relationships (r = 0.341, sig. = 0.000 <0.005) between the variables of interest in learning and learning achievement. The results of subsequent studies showed a positive and significant relationship (r = 0.980, sig. = 0.000 <0.005) between the variables of emotional intelligence and interest in learning. The results of the study between the variables of emotional intelligence and interest in learning with student achievement showed a value of R = 0.343, significance of F 0.000 <0.005, which means there is a positive and significant relationship between variables, while for the magnitude of the contribution between variables of emotional intelligence and interest in learning with learning achievement is R square = 0.118 or equal to 11.8%, while the remaining is 82.2% which is another variable factor. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and interest in learning with student achievement in class X SMK Negeri 4 Bengkulu city.
