LIGHTING EVALUATION IN BERINGHARJO MARKET BUILDING

Yogyakarta. Beringharjo Market as a traditional market besides being a place for buying and selling needs
daily is also a regional tourist destination, so the existence and sustainability of Beringharjo Market are important to discuss. The discussion of lighting comfort aspects was chosen with the consideration that light is an important factor for Beringharjo market users in choosing goods and transacting. With good building lighting, building users will feel comfortable and the existence and sustainability of traditional markets can be achieved. This study uses quantitative methods, with Dialux software tools to measure the distribution and strength of light in space. The results of this study indicate that the natural lighting in Beringharjo Market in general does not meet good lighting standards because the average is below 20 lux and the level of light distribution that is evenly distributed in the space reaching 100 lux is only found in 1 part of the building login required)
