AN EMBASSY ANALYSIS OF REALITY
(Case Study of Yogyakarta Kentungan Intersection).

Four intersections with Kentungan signal are intersections that have
traffic flow is quite dense especially in the hours of the morning, afternoon and evening
day. The four intersections of Kentungan are in the commercial area. 4-way intersection
Kentungan is the people's access to the Kaliurang Road so that it flows past
traffic during certain hours will increase especially in the morning, afternoon and evening
This study aims to analyze the performance of Simpang Empat
Kentungan signal. Data survey was conducted on May 4, 2018 (Friday) and
May 6, 2018 (Sunday) conducted at the peak hours of the intersection, namely
at 07.00-09.00 WIB, 12.00-14.00 WIB and 16.00-18.00 WIB. Data analysis
based on the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual.
The results obtained after processing the highest degree of saturation data
namely on Friday at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the northern approach of 1,19, on the approach
west 1.11, at south approach 1.30, and at east approach 1.19. According to
MKJI 1997 A good degree of saturation is below 0.85. After given
four alternatives namely the addition of green time, the ban on lanes turn left and continue
in the northern approach, the first and second alternative combinations, changes in width
effective and changing settings for APILL lights. Of the four alternatives above
the best is the fourth alternative and the degree of saturation is obtained
at a northern approach of 0.83, at a western approach of 0.84, at a southern approach of 0.84,
and in the eastern approach 0.83.
