Kahwa daun is a West Sumatra local wisdom product. Kahwa Daun is made from fresh coffee leaves and takes about 2 weeks if processed by traditional processing. Products produced in traditional ways are still limited and can only meet household scale needs. Along with the re-introduction of this herbal tea in early 2000, it is believed that leaves developed into one of the alternative drinks that are in demand by the community. This results in an increase in the need for products that leaves and the quality of the products produced. This challenge cannot be answered by traditional production. Based on this background, we designed leaf processing equipment with the aim of increasing the production capacity of leaves and the quality of the products produced. At the initial stage, a tool performance test is carried out. The equipment is designed and made consisting of a rotating cylinder driven by a 0.25 HP electric motor, made of stainless steel, and heat energy for drying sourced from an LPG stove. Test results of the performance of the tool with 4 treatments (6; 8.5; 10.5; and 12 rpm), with variations in roasting time known that water content resembling water content of traditional products was reached after 120-135 minutes, at 8.5 rpm and 10.5 rpm or after 105-120 minutes, at 12 rpm. The highest number of final products was produced from a tool that was rotated at a speed of 10.5 rpm with a weight of 3.8 kg, so that leaves of 10 kg of fresh leaves. It is known that tools have a higher production capacity and shorter production times than traditional methods at 10.5 rpm.
